If you think about the National Pastime, first thing that comes to mind is all the History of baseball in the United States. But over the past two decades, the game has evolved and grown internationally and the countries that have stood out the most on that stage have been the likes of Japan, South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Most people are not thinking about Baseball in Great Britain.
The MLB has made great strides in reaching out to other countries and bringing baseball to those native lands. They have even held professional baseball games in London, England. But the idea of baseball in England doesn’t go beyond those events, unless your a native of the UK and you are following your dreams of playing professional baseball.
In Episode 11 of the LOD Podcast, Brian and David sat down with Kelly Wright and Joshua Taylor, both members of the Sheffield Bruins Baseball Club in the UK.
Kelly (GM/Player) and Joshua (Player/Coach) share their story of their involvement with the Baseball Club, as well as Great Britain’s Women’s National Team that is growing with popularity.
