  • Chicago’s North Siders also added an arm. The Cubs signed right hander Shae Simmons, reported by Bob Nightengale, in hopes that he can add some depth to the bullpen.
  • Wade Miley has a new home according to Nightengale. The left hander has signed a one year deal with hopes of making the Brewers starting rotation.
  • Kevin Acee reports that the San Diego Padres have signed A.J. Ellis. The veteran backstop will look to earn the backup catcher job coming out of camp.
