Cactus League Game of the Day 3/6/18

White Sox 6 Brewers 4

Yesterday we took in a game at Camelback Ranch. The architecture is beautiful will a very rustic feel to it. They have made upgrades with additional shade structures and a new and improved video board in right center. We were sitting down the third base line and had a beautiful view of the mountain scenery in the background.

Wade Miley took to the mound for the Brew Crew and the veteran got off to a good start. He didn’t allow a hit over his first three innings. Craig Counsell trotted him out for the fourth and that is when the wheels came off. A fielding error, a walk, and an Avisail Garcia double led to the White Sox first run. Two more runs came around on a Welington Castillo single.

Travis Shaw stole the show for the Brewers. He homered twice in this one, a solo shot in the fourth and another in the sixth. Tyler Saladino broke a 3-3 tie with a homer of his own in the bottom of the seventh. A couple of doubles in the eighth would get the Sox to six runs, which would ultimately be enough. Jesus Aguilar drove in a run in the top of the ninth, making the final 6-4.
