LOD Podcast, Episode 20: Meet the Carolina Disco Turkeys with Greg Sullivan
Brian and David sat down with Greg Sullivan this week to learn more about how this independent, summer collegiate baseball franchise has built itself into a year round brand.
Summer collegiate baseball offers many interesting team names and unique background stories. The Carolina Disco Turkeys are certainly among the most unique. The Disco Turkeys are located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and play their home games in at Truist Stadium, also home of the Winston-Salem Dash (High-A, White Sox). They are members of the All American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA).
Their team President and Co-Owner, Greg Sullivan, has his own interesting background. He spent years covering baseball from the perspective of a beat writer, covering the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A, Brewers) and Vanderbilt baseball. He credits his media experience as helping him better understand the baseball business and his work today.
