LOD Podcast, Episode 33: Pioneering the Softball Market with Ryan Moore
Ryan Moore is a longtime baseball man with softball dreams. As the founder of UMR Sports, Ryan’s company is currently developing a large scale sports complex in Manatee County (FL), which includes baseball and softball fields (among other athletic facilities). The UMR Sports complex is located on a portion of land that used to be the Moore family daily farm.
Moore himself played baseball at State College of Florida and UCF and would go on to play minor league and independent baseball. In recent years, however, he’s been a entrepreneur in the field. First, with the Florida Gulf Coast League (FGCL), summer collegiate men’s baseball. Then, expanding the FGCL to include a women’s softball division, the first of it’s kind. From there he’s gone on to launch the Florida Vibe, professional women’s softball team. Also, the American Collegiate League, an umbrella organization for collegiate girls softball. The ACL includes the FGCL as well has new leagues in Nashville, Omaha and Las Vegas.
Brian and David are joined by Ryan Moore to discuss all these ventures and much more. Tune into Episode 33 of the LOD Podcast!
