LOD Podcast, Episode 36: Talking MLB Draft and Minor League Journey with Dash Winningham

As the high school baseball tournament begins this week in Florida, LOD welcomes Dash Winningham to the show.  Dash played in two consecutive Class 3A final fours with Trinity Catholic (Ocala) in 2013 and 2014.  In 2014, the Celtics captured the Class 3A State Championship.  Meanwhile, their standout first baseman was being scouted by several MLB teams.

Following that season, Dash was selected in the 8th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the New York Mets.  He would go on to play for the FCL Mets, Kingsport Mets, Columbia Fireflies and St. Lucie Mets.  Dash would also play in the independent Frontier League.  Since leaving baseball as a player, Dash has taken up the game from the instructional side.  He’s running Dash’s Dugout, a hitting and training facility in his hometown of Ocala.
