LOD Podcast, Episode 38: Bonding Through Baseball with Chris Risola Sr. & Jr.
One of the things we love so much about the game of baseball is how the game brings families together. Episode 38 includes two guests are a great example of how fathers and sons can bond over the game of baseball. Chris Risola Sr. is the Babe Ruth Youth Baseball Deputy District Commissioner for Southwest Florida and Assistant commissioner for the Caribbean region. His son, Chris Risola Jr, is a pitcher at Canterbury High School and JSB Elite, as well as the founder of Caribbean Way Apparel.
Chris Sr. began to take on administrative roles with Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth League baseball when his son was young. He discusses some of the challenges of taking on the volunteer positions that help make youth baseball work. In his capacity as President of Cape Coral Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth, Chris was able to develop a relationship with the Minnesota Twins that would prove incredibly fruitful for the young ballplayers in his league.
