The 50th episode of the Legends on Deck Podcast looks a lot different than the previous 49. On August 5th, Legends on Deck served as the media partner for an Exclusive Meet & Greet with Johnny Damon and the Local Legends Card Show.
These events were the collaborative effort of Adam Bates, GM of the Winter Garden Squeeze and Brian Koss, our Managing Editor and Co-Host of the LOD Podcast. They worked alongside Scott Brown, President of the Mordecai Brown Legacy Foundation, to benefit youth baseball in the Horizon West / Winter Garden area of Central Florida.
A-Game, the Ultimate in Hydration, along with Craig Martin State Farm, HomeRun Pest Control, Paris Baguette – Winter Garden and Huey Magoos – Horizon West were lead sponsors of the event. Local media support from Horizon West Happenings and We Are Winter Garden helped drive turnout. The Orange Observer did a great job recapping the events in Community meets, greets Johnny Damon.
Episode 50 is a landmark episode in a variety of ways. Johnny Damon is among the most recognizable names is baseball throughout his 18 year MLB career, spanning from 1995-2012. He’s an Orlando area native, continuing to give back to his local community. Johnny Damon’s interview really culminates what LOD has always been about, allowing those involved in the game a platform to share their personal journey and inspire the next generation.
