- Updated: January 23, 2016

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
The New York Mets may have lost the 2015 World Series to the Kansas City Royals, but it’s being reported that they landed the best bat in the free agent market as they agreed on a 3-year/$75 million dollar contract to bring back Yoenis Cespedes to Queens.
Throughout the last few weeks, rumors escalated about a number of teams looking to sign Cespedes which included almost every club in the NL East except the Philadelphia Phillies.
Mets fans enjoyed an amazing run during the second half of the 2015 season as they witnessed Cespedes’ talent as he almost singlehandedly put the Mets in the postseason.
In 57 games with the Mets he batted .257, with 17 home runs and 44 RBIs. Overall in 2015, which included 102 games with the Detroit Tigers, Cespedes hit 35 home runs and drove in 105 runs, both career highs, while batting .291.
Now he returns to a full season in New York with a club that has improved their offense and ready to take back the city.
