Mets To Promote Hot Hitting T.J. Rivera To The Big Club

Finally, the New York Mets are making the right choice for the first time in a few weeks as they are finally promoting their best hitter in the minor leagues, T.J. Rivera to the big club.

For the first time in maybe forever, the Bronx, NY will be alive and rooting for the Mets, as their native son will be suiting up for his first game in a Mets uniform on Wednesday.

Rivera, who this past week was bestowed with our Player of the Week honors as well the Pacific Coast Player of the week for the second time, has been on a roll, hitting safely in his last nine games while batting .486 in his last ten.

To say that he is hot lately is an understatement, he is scorching hot and just raking in every game he has playe diin lately.

Rivera will replace Brandon Nimmo on the roster, who has been struggling Nimmo and will be optioned back to Triple-A, with the hopes to reignite his offense.

The Mets who are in desperate need of a right handed hitting outfielder, may try Rivera there as he has played in eight games in the outfield with Triple-A Las Vegas 51s, recording 12 putouts, one assist and no errors. Rivera can also play second and first, but has seen the bulk of his playing time with Vegas at 3B.

The announcement of Rivera’s promotion was first reported by Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and it couldn’t have been a sweeter thing to read.

Editor’s Note:

I personally want to congratulate my buddy Rivera for a well deserved promotion and wish him all the success that he and his family truly deserves.  The Mets have a special player in Rivera and finally the Mets fans will all get a chance to see just how special he is and will be. #TJCalledUp
