MLB Rookies: Mariners Phenom Julio Rodriguez is Tearing It Up
We are nearly at the half way mark of the 2022 MLB Baseball season and even though the stars in the league are at the tops of the voting numbers, one rookie is putting up Rookie of the Year numbers, and possibly will receive an All Star nod.
The Mariners leadoff hitter, Julio Rodriguez, is leading the rest of the rookie crop in eight major hitting categories, with Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt, Jr a close second.
Rodriguez is batting .276, while leading all rookies in games played (83), at bats (313), runs (49), hits (86), doubles (16), home runs (15), RBIs (43) and stolen bases (21). The Mariners phenom is also tied for second amongst all major league ball players with 21 stolen bases.
