Most Collectible Baseball Cards 2026
In 2025, I wrote Most Collectible Baseball Cards 2025 (Preseason) which unexpectedly grew into our most viewed article on Legends on Deck. After looking at last year’s post, I decided to approach this year’s lists a little differently. Rather than two separate Top 10 lists, I made one Top 10 overall list with five additional players to watch. The addition five are either recent rookies or prospects who have yet to play at the big league level. The number next to each name indicates the year their rookie card was released.
Top 10 Most Collectible Players 2026
- Shohei Ohtani (2018) – His collectibility is off the charts! Shohei is an international superstar and arguably the biggest athlete in any sport right now.
- Aaron Judge (2017) – Back-to-back MVP seasons and one of the best decades stretches at the plate in the history of the game.
- Paul Skenes (2024) – He’s making pitchers collectible again. His $1.1 million Topps Chrome patch auto speaks for itself.
- Bobby Witt Jr. (2022) – He has become the face of The Hobby among active ballplayers and the best shortstop in the game.
- Ronald Acuna Jr. (2018) – NL Comeback Player of the Year in 2025 and on top of the world in Venezuela’s WBC victory. Expect a big rebound with a healthy season.
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (2019) – Vladi powered the Blue Jays to the World Series last season and he has arguably not even hit the prime of his career.
- Gunnar Henderson (2023) – Early season injuries set him back in 2025. Gunnar put up some big numbers in the WBC. Look for a big bounce back this year for the young Orioles shortstop.
- Junior Caminero (2024) – New to this year’s list after a big 2025 campaign and with DR in World Baseball Classic. He’s only 22 and one of the most exciting players in the game.
- Bryce Harper (2012) – Still one of the biggest stars in the game producing in big moments for one of the best teams in the NL.
- Mike Trout (2011) – Even if it looks like Trout’s on the downswing, the impact of his overall career will secure his long-term value. He also loves The Hobby.
Five (More Players) to Watch
- Nick Kurtz (2025) – The 2025 AL Rookie of the Year looks like the marque slugger of the next generation.
- Roman Anthony (2026) – Boston looks like they’ve got their next big star and he’s produced big moments in the WBC. He’s one of the big RC chases in 2026 products.
- Jac Caglianone (2026) – Making headlines for Team Italy, he could make the Royals lineup dangerous this season. He’s another big RC chase in 2026.
- Kevin McGonigle – The Tigers could have a generational hitter on their hands. He’s either on the Opening Day roster or he will be called up soon after.
- Konnor Griffin – If the Pirates add him to the Opening Day roster, he will be the youngest since Ken Griffey Jr. to do it. At age 19, the #1 overall prospect is crushing homers in Spring Training.
The World Baseball Classic has fans even more excited for the 2026 season. As Opening Day approaches, baseball cards continue to offer an opportunity to engage with the game in a fun, unique and sometimes profitable way. Enjoy the season and The Hobby!
