NL Player of the Week: Rockies Charlie Blackmon

The Colorado Rockies lead-off man Charlie Blackmon has been hot for most of the season, batting .316 in May, .311 in June and .303 in July, but in August he has stepped it up a notch and is on a torrid stretch, especially over the last week.
Spanning August 8th – 14th, Blackmon is batting .563 (18 for 32), with 13 runs scored, six doubles, seven home runs, and nine RBI’s. He actually hit three home runs on August 12th and two on Sunday, all against the Philadelphia Phillies which was a club record for the most in one series.
For the month of August, Blackmon is batting .448 (26 for 58), with eight home runs and 15 RBIs, and has recorded eight multi-hit games, which included a 4-hit game on August 6th against the Miami Marlins.
Overall for the season, the Rockies center fielder is batting .324, with 79 runs scored, 25 doubles, three triples, 20 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases in 426 at bats.
