The National League Championship Series has traveled to the West Coast this week as the LA Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs starting with Game 3 on Tuesday night.

RHP Jake Arrieta was tapped to start for the Cubs as LHP Rich Hill took the start for the Dodgers. Last season Arrieta pitched his first career no-hitter at Dodgers’ Stadium during Sunday Night Baseball.

LA took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a RBI single off the bat of Corey Seager to send home Andrew Toles.

Yasmani Grandal helped the Dodgers extend their lead as he took Arrieta deep in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run homer to make it a 3-0 Dodgers lead.

But, it was a solo homerun on a line drive to center field by Justin Turner that would be enough to chase Arrieta and force the Cubs to send reliever Travis Wood to the mound.

Arrieta went five innings allowing four runs on sis hits; striking out five batters.

Hill worked six shutout innings allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six.

Joc Pederson then cushioned the Dodgers’ lead in the bottom of the eighth, first with a RBI double to score Yasiel Puig and then scoring when Grandal grounded out for a 6-0 lead.

A usual offensive force, the Cubs failed to get any runs on the board for the second consecutive game and now fall to 2-1 in the series.

The Cubs and Dodgers will take the field on Wednesday night for Game 4 of the NLCS. RHP John Lackey will take the start Cubs as LHP Julio Urias will be the Dodgers’ starter.
