NLCS Game 3 Preview: Mets At Cubs

When both the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets won their way into the National League Championship Game, everyone knew it would be a series for the ages however, after just two games it looks as if the Cubs have dug themselves into a very deep hole. Losing Games 1 and 2 with two key members of their starting rotation in Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta on the hill may have been the falling point for the Cubs but also a shift in momentum for the Mets. Now, it’s time for Game 3 and here is everything you need to know:

When: Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Where: Wrigley Field

The Matchup:

The Mets will look to keep up with the momentum they  have gained in the first two games as they send RHP Jacob deGrom to start Game 3.  Although deGrom’s previous two starts the regular season have been in the loss column, his postseason record so far has been quite impressive. He had a solid outing in Game 1 of the NLDS, striking out 13 and then a rough Game 5, but was able to work out of trouble and lead the Mets to the NLCS.

RHP Kyle Hendricks will take the start for the Cubs in Game 3 in hopes of setting a pace early for his team to compete for their first series win. Unfortunately, in his last playoff outing in the second game of the divisional series he went just 4 and two third innings allowing three homers by the Cardinals.
