NLCS Game 4 Preview: Mets At Cubs
The results of Game 4 could lead to a trip to the 2015 World Series as the New York Mets currently lead the Chicago Cubs 3-0 in the National League Championship Series. Let’s break down the fourth game of the NLCS:
When: Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 8:00pm
Where: Wrigley Field
The Matchup:
LHP Steven Matz will make just his second Major League postseason start on Wednesday night as he tries and help the Mets to the World Series. His first playoff appearance was in Game 4 of the divisional series where he went just five innings, allowing three runs and forcing a Game 5 situation between the Mets and Dodgers. Matz was promoted in late June and made his first start on June 28 and immediately went 2-0 in his first two starts while being successful both offensively and defensively. He then suffered a partially torn lat muscle that derailed him for two months before he returned in September and now the postseason to help the Mets’ playoff dreams come true. Matz has never faced Chicago yet in his young career.
RHP Jason Hammel will counter for the Chicago Cubs in Game 4. His last postseason appearance in the divisional series was also a bit rocky as he lasted just three innings, allowing four runs to the St. Louis Cardinals. He will need to bring his “A” game if the Cubs have any chance off fighting back in the NLCS.
