Northwest League Defeats Pioneer League 11-5 in All-Star Game
The 2016 All-Star game between the Northwest League against the Pioneer League was played on Tuesday night at Lindquist Field in front of 5,339 Class-A Short season fans.
The NWL stars put together a hitting clinic as they pounded out 19 hits en route to the 11-5 victory over the PIO stars.
The scoring started in the top of the third as the NWL stars put up a three-spot highlighted by a home run from Xavier Turner and RBI singles from Garrett Hampson and Eric Filia.
In the bottom half of the frame, the PIO stars answered back with four runs with the big blow coming from a two run shot off the bat of D.J. Peters.
The very next inning, the NWL stars put the game away for good adding seven runs on seven hits highlighted by a two-run triple from Cavan Biggio, RBI single from Filia and a two-run dinger from Gio Brusa.
Each team would add a run in the sixth, but then the bullpens took over and both teams were shut out the rest of the way.

Rangers Propsect Xavier Tuner won the games MVP finishing 3 for 3, HR, RBI.
Hall of Famer Craig Biggio‘s son Cavan played in his first professional All-Star game.
