The Baltimore Orioles are built to win the AL East Division again and they showed their strength by scoring seven runs in the later innings to overcome a 5-0 deficit and overtake the Boston Red Sox 7-5.

The night was all about the MLB debut of Jackson Holliday and even though he did not record a hit, he had a key groundout in the six inning to score a run.

Baltimore trailed the Red Sox 5-0 by the fifth inning, as Boston scored one in the bottom of the third and two each in the fourth and fifth innings. All the runs came on a Tyler O’Neill RBI single, a Connor Wong 2-RBI single and capped off by Triston Casas two run home run over the Green Monster.

The Orioles mounted their comeback after Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford was removed after five innings. Crawford kept the explosive Orioles lineup in check by allowing just two hits, while striking out six batters.

In the top of the sixth inning, Colton Cowser singled home both Ryan Mountcastle and Cedric Mullens to pull within 5-2. Then Holliday’s groundout scored Cowser to reduce the scoring gap to two runs, at 5-3.

The following inning, Ryan O’Hearn scored on a wild pitch and Jordan Westburg finished off the comeback, with a 2-run home run over the center field fence to put the Orioles in the lead for good at 7-5.

Baltimore’s bullpen shut down the Sox with four shutout innings, led by Mike Baumann (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 Ks), Keegan Akin (2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 Ks) and Craig Kimbrel picking up his second save of the season (1 IP, 0H, 0R, 2 Ks).

Jackson Holliday finished the game 0 for 4, with an RBI.
