Just when you thought the San Diego Padres were done with revamping their roster, they pull off another trade, and add closer Craig Kimbrel to the bullpen.
The Padres send outfielders Carlos Quentin and Cameron Maybin, minor league outfielder Jordan Paroubeck, minor league pitcher Matt Wisler and the 41st overall pick in the June draft to the Atlanta Braves for B.J. Upton and Kimbrel’s services.
Kimbrel, a four-time all star, has been the Braves closer since 2010 and has saved 186 games, with a career 1.43 ERA and 476 strikeouts in 289 innings. A great pick up by the Padres.
Melvin Upton, formerly known as BJ, is reunited once again with his brother Justin and joins an already solid looking Padres offense.
