Utility player Steve Pearce has signed a one year deal with the Tampa Rays, pending a physical, according to several sources.

The Florida native was a clutch player for most recently the Baltimore Orioles the last three seasons. He hit .293 along with 49 RBIs and 21 homers in 2014 and .218 with 15 homers and 40 RBIs in 2015.

The 32 year-old is strong as a designated hitter, first baseman and left fielder.

Pearce is a veteran player that will be a valuable asset to a young Rays lineup that struggles at points during the regular season.
