Pirates Prospect Charles McAdoo Goes 6-6 In Just His 4th Professional Game

The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Charles McAdoo in the 13th round of the 2023 June draft out of San Jose State. The Walnut Creek, California native made his professional debut on August 1st in Bradenton against the Tampa Tarpons, and walked in his first professional at bat.
After grounding out in his second and third at bats, the 6’2″ 210lbs, 21 year old, finally recorded his first professional base hit, with a line drive single to left field.
In his second game with the Marauders, he was 2 for 4, then two games later he continued his hot hitting with another 2 for 4 game, but on August 8th, against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, McAdoo had the breakout game of his short career, with a 6 for 6, two homer game.
I was on hand on Tuesday night to watch his big game and McAdoo put on a show.
In his first at bat, he hit a line drive shot that traveled 428 ft over the center field fence and if not for the tall wall, it may have left the stadium. The homer brought the Marauders within a run at 2-1. In the top of the 3rd, McAdoo struck again with another majestic shot, a 405 ft three-run bomb over the center field fence, putting Bradenton up 5-4.
As McAdoo’s plate appearances neared, the Mighty Mussels fans grew even more anxious wondering if he would hit his third of the game. In the Top of the 5th, McAdoo hit an RBI line drive single to left field to score a run and increase the lead to 6-4 and improve time at the plate to 3 for 3 on the night. McAdoo came up to bat again in the sixth inning, and again he laced a line drive single to right field for his fourth hit of the game.
The hits just kept on coming as the newly arrived Marauder hit a ground ball single through the left side of the field to score the 10th run on the night for Bradenton and make it a 5 for 5 game. But the San Jose State alum was not done chasing history as he came up in the top of the ninth and on the first pitch, he hit a line drive to left field to score two runs and finish the game a perfect 6 for 6, while driving in eight runs.
What a feat, what a game for a young man just four games into his pro ball career. And a great lift for a team chasing the Lakeland Flying Tigers for first place in the Florida State League West Division.
Through his first four games, McAdoo is batting .688 (11 for 16), with five runs scored, two home runs and 10 RBIs.
So far it looks like a star in the making happening in Bradenton, Florida. More to come from Charles McAdoo and you can be sure Legends on Deck will be all over it.
Tonight @Pirates 13th round pick Charles McAdoo went 6-6 with 8 RBI. With those totals McAdoo broke @The_Marauders single game record for RBI in a game as well as tied the record for hits in a game along with Willy Garcia back in 2013.
