The Cleveland Indians #2 Top Prospect Clint Frazier is making waves in the organizations farm system as he is quickly on his way to an eventual debut with the big club.

Frazier, who was honored as Georgia’s top baseball athlete and the Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year in 2013, was signed by the Tribe in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Loagnville High School in Loganville, GA.

The 6’1″ outfielder started his professional baseball career with Cleveland’s Rookie ball team, the Arizona League Indians and in 44 games, he hit .297/.362/.506.

The following season, the organization sent him to their Class A affiliate, the Lake County Captains and in 120 games, he batted .266/.349/.411, with 70 runs, 18 doubles, six triples, 13 home runs, and 50 RBI’s.

Frazier’s rapid climb through the system only increased his value as a top prospect and last season he proved his worth even more as he hit .285, with 88 runs, 36 doubles, 16 home runs, 72 RBIs, and 68 walks, in 133 games with the Class-A Advanced Lynchburg Hillcats.

For the 2015 season, Frazier led the Carolina League with 143 hits, 36 doubles, and 233 total bases, and was in the top 10 a variety of categories which included, runs, home runs, runs batted in, walks, batting average, OBP, and Slug.

This past fall he was invited to compete in the Arizona Fall League and in 22 games, he batted .281 (25 for 89), with 15 runs and three home runs.

The 2016 season for the Georgia native has found him with the Indians Double-A affiliate, the Akron Rubber Ducks, and the top prospect is making the most of his opportunities.

He started the season on an 11-game hitting streak batting .313 (15 for 48) from April 7 – April 19. After an o for 4 game the next night, he started a new streak that lasted eight games.

In May, spanning 17 games, he is batting .333, with 18 runs, two home runs, nine RBIs and 15 walks. He currently is on a four game hit streak, has three multi-hit games in that span and has hit safely in 13 of the 17 games with seven multi-hit games in the month.

On the season the RubberDucks outfielder is batting .300, with 35 runs, 14 doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI, and 21 walks, hitting safely in 34 of the teams 37 games.

Frazier is making his presence known in the Eastern League as well as he leads in runs, hits, and doubles.

The Indians have a special ball player in their #2 prospect and as he proves that he can hit at any level, it won’t be long before he is making an impact on the big league roster.

Keep an eye on Frazier, his star is about to shine even brighter.
