In the 2021 June Draft, the Philadelphia Phillies selected Jordan Viars in the 3rd round (84th overall) out of Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas at just 17 years old.

The Plano Texas native was the District 9-5A Offensive Player of the Year, with a .500 batting average, and seven home runs in 73 at bats in his District.

Prior to entering pro baseball, he was ranked by Perfect Game: National Ranking (126 Overall, 22 as an OF) and Texas State Ranking (12th Overall, 1st as an OF).

Viars entered pro ball in 2021 and played in the Florida Complex League (Rookie Level) and in 22 games, he batted .255 (12 for 47), with 13 runs scored, a double, three home runs, 18 RBIs and 11 walks. That season he enjoyed a 5-game hitting streak, and also hit a home run in each of his last two games of the season.

In 2022, Viars started the season in the FCL and through 44 games, he batted .240 (37 for 154), with 28 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, two home runs, 20 RBIs and 17 walks. With the FCL Phillies, he recorded an eight game hitting streak, had five multi-hit games, which also included a 4 for 5 game.

The Phillies #13th Prospect, was then promoted to the Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League (Low A), and he finished out the season appearing in the last eight games of 2022.

This season, Viars has started with the Threshers and so far he is batting just .148 through 14 games, but lately he has started to get hot. In the last seven days, he is batting .278 (5 for 18), with a run scored, two doubles, a home run and two RBIs, while also enjoying a four-game hitting streak.

At just 19 years old and three years in pro ball, Jordan is already on the clock with a ETA of making the show 2025.

Keep an eye out on Jordan Viars, as he makes his way through the Phillies farm system and continues to develop his skills to play on the major league level.
