RHP Bryan Woo Sent To 15-Day IL Following Hamstring Injury, RHP Collin Snider Recalled

After suffering hamstring tightness in his right leg, Bryan Woo has been sent to the 15-Day IL by the Seattle Mariners, recalling RHP Collin Snider up from Triple-A Taoma.

Woo, who started Monday night against the Tampa Bay Rays, appeared to have hyper-extended his non-plant leg, resulting in discomfort following a 0-0 pitch that resulted in a foul ball off Richie Palacios.

Woo would attempt to make warm-up pitches following suffering the injury, but he was not able to put much pressure on him to make throws.

The former Cal Poly arm has had an exceptional start to the season, arguably in contention for an All-Star spot. Through 8 games (all starts), Woo currently holds a 3-1 record and a 1.77 ERA so far in 2024.

Four of his eight starts have been flawless for the 6’2″ right-hander, not allowing any runs and bringing a consistent arm within the M’s rotation.

Losing such a quality arm in Woo definitely brings a blow to the M’s staff, so it will be a hard replacement to make for the time being for someone to try to replicate his stats.

Through the loss of Woo comes Collin Snider.

Snider, primarily a bullpen arm, has made five appearances in 2024 for Seattle, tossing five innings and only allowing two earned in his small sample size.

In Triple-A Tacoma, Snider has held up a 3.44 ERA in 17 appearances, starting in one game this year for Seattle’s farm team.

It is unclear the timetable as to when Woo would return to the mound, but given that it is hamstring-related, Seattle may try to ease the 24-year-old back into the picture of the Mariners staff.
