Rome Braves Edge Sand Gnats 2-1

Game two of the three game series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Rome Braves was played Tuesday evening at Grayson Stadium in front of 1,031 fans.

Rome scored two runs in the 4th inning and edged Savannah 2-1.

It was an exciting game and finish as the Sand Gnats had runners on second and third in the 9th inning with two outs but could not score.

Sand Gnat starter, Scarlyn Reyes, had a good outing, pitching six innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven.

Savannah scored their run in the 2nd inning when Stefan Sabol doubled and scored on a single by second baseman JC Rodriguez.

Three consecutive hits in the fourth inning by Rome, led to two runs which was enough for the win. Leading off the fourth inning, shortstop Ozhaino Albies tripled and scored on a double by center fielder Keith Curcio. A single by third baseman Jordan Edgerton, scored Curcio.

Sand Gnats Top Performers:

The final game of the three game series starts at 7:05 pm Wednesday at Grayson Stadium.
