Royals Alex Gordon Out Up To 8 Weeks With Injury
A huge blow to the Royals season.
The Kansas City Royals were handed a huge blow when their star left fielder Alex Gordon was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays with a Grade-2 plus left groin strain and will be sidelined for up to eight weeks.
Gordon, who sustained the injury running down a fly ball, was recently selected as a starter for the American League in the All-Star game.
The long-time Royal outfielder has been a huge part of the teams recent success and even his teammates know how important he is.
“It’s going to be hard with us because he means so much to the team and he goes out there everyday and gives it his all and we are all going to really miss him,” teammate Jarrod Dyson told MLB.com after the game.
For the season, Gordon is batting .279, with 13 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBI’s and 39 walks.
