South Atlantic League All Star Game Ends In 3-3 Tie

The 2017 South Atlantic League All Star Game was played in front of 4,012 fans, at the home of the Columbia Fireflies, Spirit Communications Park.

In the bottom of the first, the home team jumped out to a 2-0 lead, when Fireflies 1B Dash Winningham hit a line drive double to center field, scoring Rome Braves CF Cristian Pache and Columbia teammate 2B Michael Paez.

In the top of the second, the North took the lead after posting three runs on an RBI double from Kannapolis Intimidators SS Mitch Roman and a two run single from Hagerstown Suns 1B Aldrem Corredor scoring West Virginia Power LF Ty Moore and Roman.

In the bottom of the second, the South tied the game at 3-3, when Asheville Tourists DH Max George scored ahead of a double off the bat of Rome Braves RF Randy Ventura.

Both bullpens took over the rest of the game keeping both offenses off the scoreboard as the game ended in the 3-3 tie.

It did get interesting in the top of the seventh with Fireflies Adonis Uceta pitching. He struck out the first batter, then gave up back to back singles. Then struckout the next batter. The gave up his third single of the inning loading the bases. But then struck out the side, stranding the potential winning run on third.
