Strasburg Makes 5 Inning Rehab Start

nationalsWashington Nationals’ starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg made a rehab appearance with Double-A Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon.

Strasburg, who is working his way back from tightness on his neck at the end of May, pitched five innings, allowing four hits and two runs; one earned, while striking out six batters on seventy one pitches. The goal was to have him throw eighty pitches so instead of sending him back out he threw a nine pitch bullpen session to reach his goal.

With no lingering issues in his neck, Strasburg will most likely be back with the Nats next week.

The Nationals are also without first baseman Ryan Zimmerman who is currently on the DL with Plantar Fasciitis. With this being a recent injury there isn’t a current timetable as to when Zimmerman will be back with the Nationals.
