For the 2019 season, both the Syracuse Mets and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRaiders finished at 75-65 in the International League North, forcing a one-game tie-breaker on September 3rd, to see who would represent their division in the postseason. Both New York team affiliates would leave it all on the field scoring 27 runs combined, but the Yankees Triple-A team, the RailRaiders, scored eight runs in the bottom of the eighth to come back and stun the Mets affiliate, who had scored six runs in the top of the frame to extend their lead to 13 to 6.
