Triple-A Shortstop Of The Week: Brewers’ Orlando Arcia Extends Hitting Streak

The minor leagues are filled with tremendous talent all just waiting for their big league break. Shortstop Orlando Arcia, who plays for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, is one of those players.
The twenty-one year old has a twelve game hitting streak so far this season with the Sky Sox. In the last ten games he has seventeen total hits and two stolen bases while hitting .354. Ranked as the Brewers’ top propsect,this season he has hit .318 with three homers and 21 RBIs while stealing six bases in thirty-six games so far.
The young shortstop is also ranked as the fourth best prospect in baseball, the hard hitting righty has already had three games in which he has had at least three hits this season.
He’s not only a solid presence at the plate but also a solid on defense as well. He received the 2015 Rawlings Gold Glove Award for his performance with Double-A Biloxi as he maintained a .978 fielding percentage and was able to successfully turn eight-two double plays.
This isn’t the first time that Arcia has impressed, the last three seasons he was named Milwaukee’s Minor League All-Star and last season he hit .307 with eight homers 69 RBIs and an impressive twenty-five stolen bases.
