Triple A: Syracuse Mets’ Dilson Herrera Has a HR in Four Straight Games

The New York Mets brought back a fan favorite in 2019 when Dilson Herrera signed a minor league free agent contract, after being send to the Reds in a trade that brought Jay Bruce to the Mets in August, 2016.
Now the Colombian native is looking at paving his path back to the majors and he is doing it with the bat and showcasing that he is now a huge power threat.
Over the last four games, Herrera has a home run in each and over his last 10 games he is batting .394 (13-33), with 12 runs scored, seven home runs, and 10 RBIs. In that stretch, Herrera recorded a two homer game and has hit at least one home run in six of his last eight games.
On the season, Herrera is batting .258, with 14 doubles, 16 home runs and 36 RBIs in 182 at bats, spanning 57 games. The 16 homers are the most Herrera has ever had in one season in the minors.
He started out slow in April in the home run column with just three, but he had six in May with 15 RBIs and now in June and with 10 games left in the month, he has hit seven dingers and has driven in 10 runs.
Herrera leads the team with 16 home runs and is tied in the 6th spot amongst the league leaders.
At this rate, Herrera will most likely put up career numbers in the minors, but the hope is that when the New York Mets are looking for a spark plug off the bench to help turn their season around, that they will call the guys like Herrera, that are playing well on the farm.
