Twins Prospects With The Mighty Mussels Swinging Hot Sticks

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 7-3 over the last 10 games, and after a win on Tuesday at home against the Dunedin Blue Jays, they improved to 13-6, in third place and three games back in the Florida State League West division.
In Tuesday’s game, Jorel Ortega stayed hot with another hit as he has hit safely in 9 of his last 11, batting .333 (13 for 39), with nine runs scored, four doubles, 12 RBIs and 14 walks. In his last seven days, he is batting .417 (5 for 12), with two runs, and RBIs and six walks.
Ricardo Olivar hit his third home run in the win, and has there home runs in his current six game hitting streak.
Carlos Aguiar, who went hitless on Tuesday, ended his four game hitting streak in which he had three multi-hit games in the span. Over the his last 13 games, he hit safely in 10 games, with 11 runs, two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBIs, and five walks. Rubel Cespedes extended his hitting streak to five games on Tuesday, batting .450 (9 for 20), and has hit safely in 8 of his last 10. During that span, he scored five runs, recorded three doubles, a triple, and four RBIs.
The Mussels left fielder, Dalton Shuffield entered the game with a three game hitting streak and added another multi-hit game after going 2 for 3, with three runs scored and a triple. Since his first game on April 6th, Shuffield has hit safely in 12 of 15 games, batting .360 (18 for 50), with 12 runs scored, two home runs and 12 RBIs.
Dylan Neuse has also joined the hit parade as he recorded a hit in the win, that extending the current hitting streak to six games, batting ..454 (10 for 22), with a double, six RBIs and three walks.
The Mighty Mussels have an 11-game stretch at home where they face two sub .500 teams, so if the bats stay hot they may be able to close the gap on the division leaders. Going to be a good two weeks of games to catch in Fort Myers.
