White Sox To Promote #1 Prospect Carson Fulmer
It’s being reported by various media outlets that the Chicago White Sox are promoting their #1 Prospect right hander Carson Fulmer, on Friday.
Fulmer, was drafted by the White Sox in the 1st round (8th overall) of the 2015 June Amateur draft out of Vanderbilt University.
In his first pro season, he pitched in Rookie ball for one inning, before being moved up to Class-A Advanced Winston-Salem Dash and in eight starts was 0-0, with a 2.05 ERA, and 25 strikeouts in 22 innings.
This season prior to his promotion to the majors, the 22-year old, posted a 4-9 record with Double-A Birmingham Barons, a 4.17 ERA, and 90 strikeouts in 87 innings. But over the past three starts, he has given up just two runs on 10 hits, in 19 innings, allowing nine walks and striking out 22 batters.
Fulmer will be making the jump straight from Double-A and with having only a season and a half of minor league experience under his belt. Other notable White Sox pitchers like Chris Sale and Carlos Rodon have made a quick jumps as well and have experienced the success, so Fulmer will have a few guys who have traveled the same journey that can help with the transition if needed.
Congrats to Carson Fulmer on making it to the Show and we wish him much success.
