On August 21, 2022, New York Yankees Aaron Judge had 46 home runs with 40 potential games left in the season. Judge went on that season to finish with 62 home runs, breaking the Yankees and American League single season home run record.

Fast forward to August 21, 2024 and Judge homered twice to increase his Major League lead to 47 home runs, which puts him on track to reach 60 home runs, and possibly break his 2022 single season record of 62.

In 2022, Judge hit five home runs in his last nine games in August to reach 51 home runs, and then hit 10 in September and one in October to reach 62.

Judge already has eight home runs in August, with nine more games to go in the month.  Over his last six games, Judge has been on a home run tear, with five bombs, and currently has a nine game hitting streak.  So to say that Judge is hot, is an understatement, which is a great recipe for a run at 62 home runs.

In 2022, the Yankees won the AL East division, and Judge’s record season was the icing on the cake, and with the Yankees once again battling for another division crown, here is Judge vying to break his own record.

Ideally, one can not predict how many more home runs Judge will hit before the month is up, but if he just hits five in the next nine games, he will set himself up for a month of September where just 12 home runs can do the trick. And that is not a hard feat for Judge, as he launched 14 in May.

The road to 62 once again gets very interesting in Yankees land, and the exciting part about the journey is that Judge could possibly reach 63. The MLB record is 73 set by Barry Bonds in 2001, but 63 is just more exciting these days.
