Dansby Swanson Among Invites To Braves’ Camp

(Gabe Rodriguez)
Newly acquired Atlanta Braves’ top prospect Dansby Swanson has received his first invitation to Major League Spring Training.
The overall first pick in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt University, Swanson was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Braves as part of the deal that sent Shelby Miller to Arizona.
The 21 year old shortstop led the Commodores to two consecutive College World Series and is ranked as the tenth best prospect in baseball.
After officially signing with the D-backs after his time with Vanderbilt, Swanson played with the organization’s Low-A Hillsboro Hops of the Northwestern League, where in twenty-two games he hit .289 with seven doubles, three triples, a homer and 11 RBIs.
Along with Swanson, ten of the top thirteen Atlanta Braves’ prospects have been invited to spring training, including Sean Newcomb (#2), Ozhaino Albies (#3) and Aaron Blair (#4), to name a few.
